Peoria Real Estate

In the summer of 2008, Money Magazine named Peoria, Arizona on its list of the Top 100 Places to Live. Many “snowbirds” from the north move to Arizona permanently or purchase their second home here, and Peoria is a great place to make that move. With high-end homes of all shapes and sizes and prices from around one hundred thousand to the multi-millions, there is bound to be the perfect home for you. Peoria can give you the East Valley’s “flair and exclusivity” in the West Valley with access to Lake Pleasant and its many luxuries.
The sixth largest city in Arizona based on land area is bordered by Phoenix, Glendale, and Surprise. The Loop 303 and the Loop 101 are both easily accessible from Peoria. In Glendale, just east of Peoria, is the West Campus of Arizona State University (ASU), and west of Peoria is the Luke Air Force Base which, though close in proximity, is not beside Peoria. Both Trine University and DeVry University have campuses located in Peoria, as well.
Most children of Peoria go to schools in the Peoria Unified School District or the Deer Valley Unified School District. There are a few public charter schools, like BASIS Peoria Charter and Desert Pointe Academy, and Private Schools, like The ACES, in Peoria. Many Peoria schools are among the highest rated by GreatSchools.org. The vast majority of secondary schools have athletics programs for students for most school sports. In surrounding cities there are additional public, public charter, and private schools.
There is an abundance of activities in Peoria; the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners have spring training in Peoria at the award winning Peoria Sports Complex each year with tickets available for spectators. The Arizona Cardinals NFL team and Arizona Coyotes NHL team play in Glendale Arizona, a bordering city. Golf courses and clubs are also very easy to come by in this Phoenix suburb, and with a mountain range, lakes, and a river in and around the city, hiking trails, horseback riding, kayaking, paddle boarding, and boat tours are accessible, fun for the whole family, and a great way to spend hot summers. For the kids there is paintballing, laser tag, and great skate parks. For the adults there are flying lessons at Turf Soaring School and wine tasting venues. Shopping in Peoria ranges from big name designers to small town boutiques, making for a nice outing where you can find anything and everything. For the most unique dining experience, there are dinner theaters, grills, steakhouses, authentic Mexican restaurants, and gourmet restaurants with the most delectable dishes.
Among the many communities in Peoria is Vistancia, a neighborhood rich with amenities and common areas. This area has the Mountain Vista Club with a pool and gym and other activities and the Discovery Trail for hiking and walking with picturesque sights. Multiple builders were able to take part in creating the Village at Vistancia, hence its inimitable and grand homes, some of which are very affordable, especially when considering the location and exclusivity of Vistancia. GreatSchools.org rated Vistancia Elementary School a ten out of ten.
