Gilbert Real Estate
Much of Arizona’s agricultural design is based on the desert surrounding the busy cities, but Gilbert, located in the southeast metro area, uses luscious greenery in its landscaping instead. The National Arbor Day Foundation called it Tree City USA for 2016. Named the second best city in the state of Arizona by Movoto.com and Thrillist’s Best Phoenix Suburb, Gilbert is swanky and stylish with shopping, restaurants, local farmer’s markets, and quiet neighborhoods, and despite its title as the most populated incorporated town in the United States, Gilbert was once a rural community known as the “Hay-Shipping Capital of the World”. Expedia has also listed it in the Top 10 Cleanest Cities in America of 2016.
The city offers quick freeway access to get to Arizona State University’s (ASU) Polytechnic Campus and it is close to the 202 and the I-60. The close proximity to the freeway makes commutes to Chandler, Tempe, and Mesa, the cities that border Gilbert, fast and painless.
Awarded for the 10th time as Playful City USA by KaBoom!, you will never be bored here. TechCo. has even named Gilbert in the top 5 Safest Cities for Start-Up Entrepreneurs, hence the trendy, one-of-a-kind local shops. The quaint architecture and historical buildings are not all Gilbert makes its name for. There are hundreds of acres of parklands and nature trails, along with four public pools and three community centers. Art galleries often feature resident artists, as well as the weekly art walks throughout the city.
In 2010, GreatSchools.org recognized Gilbert in the top cities to live and learn. There are multiple public school districts, as well as Gilbert Christian Schools, with multiple private schools located around the city. A few Gilbert schools have even been acknowledged as A-Plus Schools of Excellence by the Arizona Education Foundation. NerdWallet gave Gilbert the title of Best City for Working Parents in 2014.
Downtown Gilbert’s spacious farmer’s market is full of freshly-grown, local produce and seasonal fruits and vegetables, along with natural fish and pork with artisan baked goods from the 10 to 20 vendors from around the state. This open air market comes around weekly. Rays Market at The Barn at Power Ranch has local food trucks and gourmet dishes. Some vendors provide their own specialties like salsa and honey and dairy with samples, and some have begun creating organic soaps and teas. These same markets feature art pieces from local artists.
Power Ranch, a neighborhood in Gilbert, has a small town feel within its flourishing community. The National Association of Home Builders ranked Power Ranch in the top 5 Best Master Planned Communities in the Nation in 2002 and as the Best Master Planned Community in 2002, 2003, and 2010 by Ranking Arizona, while consistently being ranked in the top 5 since 2003. The neighborhood features natural walking trails along the lake and community parks as well as a clubhouse and a private pool.
New homes are always up and coming. In 2013, the Home Builders Association of Central Arizona called Gilbert the Fastest Growing City in Arizona. Most homes are Spanish-style, but some builders like Palmer Design specialize in creating custom luxury homes.
